RULES, REPORTS & POLICIES

We require a 1:5 (Adult: Children) ratio on our Museum exhibit floor. Children must be supervised at all times. No security can take the place of adult supervision. Please have fun with, and supervise, your children at all times.

With the exception of service animals, animals are not permitted in the Museum. The Museum defines service animals as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.  The Museum does not permit pets, emotional support, comfort and/or therapy animals.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta seeks to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests, where everyone is free to imagine, discover, and learn through a hands-on play experience! It takes all of us to do our part in acting responsibly and staying considerate of others during our time at the Museum. Food and snacks are only permitted in our Snack Stop area located near the main entrance. Our Snack Stop area is available to families who need a quick snack break. Full meals and prolonged usage of the space is not permitted. Water and soda bottles with caps are permitted on our exhibit floor.

Swearing, inappropriate and offensive language are not permitted in the Museum. Young ears are always listening. Printed clothing, hats, etc. with inappropriate material are also not permitted inside the Museum.  

Guests are required to wear proper attire, including tops, bottoms and shoes that are appropriate for a family facility

The Museum offers party packages; any other party celebrations & party related items are not permitted in the Museum, Museum exhibit floor or Snack Stop.

If you are here with your family, you are welcome to take pictures and videos of your family members only. At times, the Museum has media and photographers on the exhibit floor. By entering our facility, you have consented to have the Museum use your and/or your child’s image for marketing purposes. If you wish to not be photographed you must notify security immediately upon entering.

Re-entry is only permitted within your scheduled play session.  You will be required to get your hand stamped at security before exiting the building.

Admission tickets are non-refundable, but any unused tickets can be rescheduled for a new visit. Some restrictions may apply. The new visit date must be within 90 days of the original purchase. Reschedule at least 3-4 days prior to the new visit date to ensure availability.  

Event Tickets 
Event tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled 

Memberships   
Memberships are non-refundable & non-transferable.    

Store Merchandise  
Unused and fully packaged store merchandise can be returned with the original receipt within 30 days of purchase. Returns without receipts are not accepted.  

Snacks & Drinks   
Snacks & drinks are non-refundable.

At CMA, parents/caregivers are responsible for supervising their children at all times. You are your child’s best advocate for staying safe. 

To assist parents/caregivers in keeping children safe while exploring the Museum, we have several security measures in place. 

1. Security cameras record everyone entering and leaving through the front doors, as well as moving about the Museum in public spaces.
2. Museum team members on the exhibit floor are in radio communication with each other. When children and parents/caregivers become separated, there are standard procedures that are immediately put into effect to reunite guests quickly and efficiently. These procedures have been proven effective on a daily basis. Our Security desk is the best place to start if a child or adult/caregiver has been separated from their party.
3. Adults are not allowed to enter the Museum without a child. Any adult that needs to be united with their party will either be escorted by a Museum team member or will be asked to wait at security until someone in their party meets them at security.   

Some of our guests have asked, “why not use a security system of matching wristbands, stamps, or badges?” We have investigated such a system and are convinced that those systems create a false sense of security. We want our guests to feel safe, however, we also want our guests to be vigilant and help us keep the Museum a safe place for everyone. Remember to have fun with and supervise your children

Guests with an elevated temperature or an illness that may be contagious (such as pink eye, COVID-19 or flu) or too sick to go to school/work are asked to not visit the Museum for the safety of our guests. 

Adults are not permitted to enter the Museum floor without children but can shop in our store. Anyone interested in viewing our Museum may request a brief tour of our facility by notifying the Museum with at least 48-hour notice via email. Email requests to [email protected] and indicate the purpose of the tour and the ideal date and time of tour. Tours are subject to availability. The Museum defines an adult as any person 18+.

The Museum will not permit children to enter or remain in the Museum without an adult. The Museum defines an adult as any person 18+.
